Today my brother and I board a plane to Bangkok, Thailand with only our carry on backpacks and a vague idea of what the next few months will hold for us. Our only solid plans are to attend the Singapore Design Festival and Guangzhou Design Week - everything else will fall into place as our travels take us wherever adventure, challenge and educational opportunities arise. Along the way we will be talking to as many designers, entrepreneurs and educators as possible. I will be documenting these conversations as we travel from the major cities to the rural jungles of Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam. This is a trip that my brother and I have dreamed about since we were building tree houses deep in the woods of Southern Illinois. It’s the first adventure of many, and I look forward to sharing it with my InspireID readers. Wow Grant, that is pretty amazing. One of my goals is to find new instruments to learn while on this trip. Thanks for the cool introduction to the khene. So far in Bangkok I have only seen a few stringed instruments similar to a small 4 string guitar. I leave for the northern Thailand jungle today so I will keep an eye out.
